Mandriva 2006 review and Linux software installation background – OSnews


In light of the many misconceptions about Linux, software repositories, and installing packages, the first part of this season’s Mandriva Linux 2006 review includes a detailed feature article on the subject. This explains why the nature of free software leads to a more user-friendly software installation setup for Linux distributions in general, compared to proprietary systems such as the current market leader in desktop computers.
