We have some exciting news for Linux Lite fans like the Linux Lite 5.8 The final version is now available for download and ready to install on your systems.
The latest version of the lightweight Linux distribution incorporates a plethora of changes such as a new user interface, performance tweaks as well as bug fixes.
That said, let’s take a look at what’s included in Linux Lite 5.8:
The Linux Lite distribution based on the XFCE desktop environment gets a facelift with the combination of the Papirus icon theme and the Roboto Regular font.
The release further includes an updated Papirus icon theme which now supports new apps and brings changes in the icons of existing apps.
In addition to icon improvements, the latest version also includes nine new visually appealing wallpapers.
Added Neofetch and updated some firmware
The Linux Lite 5.8 version includes Neofetch which allows to get an overview of the system from the terminal. Along with the inclusion of Neofetch, you’ll also find updates for a few of the apps and packages from the latest release.

Meanwhile, users running older versions of Linux Lite can update the OS version by entering the following command on the terminal.
sudo apt-get install --reinstall lite-upgrade-series5
Moreover, you can also reinstall Linux Lite 5.8 on your system by downloading the ISO from the official website.
