Microsoft has released the latest feature update for Windows 10, the November 2021 Update. Also known as Windows 10 21H2, this update strengthens security with the addition of protocol support WPA3 H2E (Hash-to-Element) and more.
As is often the case with feature updates like this, Microsoft does a phased rollout, which means if you wait until it comes to you, you might be waiting a while. You can, however, choose to manually download and install the November 2021 update so that you have the latest version of Windows 10 installed as soon as possible. Read on to find out what’s new and how to skip the queue and upgrade immediately.
We have already mentioned the addition of WPA3 H2E support in this update, but there is more. There is also GPU compute support in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW) deployments for machine learning and other compute-intensive workflows.
Additionally, Windows Hello for Business has been updated to include trust in the cloud, which helps support simplified password-less deployments.
While you can manually check Windows Update for this feature update, a better option for you may be to get yourself a Windows 10 21H2 ISO image so that you can do a clean install. You can download the Windows 10 November 2021 Update ISO from here, or you can use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool instead.
While the November 2021 update is not the last feature update for Windows 10, the time will come when Microsoft will stop supporting this version of the operating system. The company wants as many people as possible to switch to Windows 11, but for people with older hardware, that may not be possible.
