With the release of Windows 11, Microsoft continues to update its core apps and has now released a new version of the Your Phone app that connects Windows to Android devices.
It’s been a while since Microsoft made a major update to the Your Phone app, which emerged with Windows 10 as part of its plan to integrate Android in a manner similar to iPhone and macOS.
The Your Phone app was buggy and primarily targeted Samsung Galaxy devices, but the intention was to reach most Android devices. The app allows users to view Android apps and notifications on Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices. Microsoft has since released previews of the Windows Subsystem for Android for Windows 11, which will eventually allow users to install Android apps. on Windows 11 from the Amazon App Store.
The latest update is expected to improve notifications, according to Microsoft.

âThe Your Phone app evolves with an updated design that puts notifications at the center,â Microsoft said.
It brings an “organized flow of your notifications in real time to all your most used apps” to the Windows 11 desktop and builds on the refreshed Windows 11 user interface.
âIn this new view, you will still have access to your messages, calls and photos with the added benefit of staying on top of important messages and other notifications more efficiently thanks to this visible view,â said the Windows Insiders team.
The new Your Phone app experience for Windows 11 was announced as part of the release of the preview version 22504 on the development channel.
But Windows 11 remains an exotic version of Windows for most users of Windows 10 machines, in part because of Microsoft’s stringent minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11.
The latest version of Windows 11 continues to fix issues with the taskbar and Start menu that have hampered the release for some time.
Microsoft suggests that the patch list still needs work to resolve issues, such as explorer.exe crashing due to issues with loading the battery icon in the taskbar. But there are also some general improvements to the taskbar to improve reliability, including adverse use cases.
